You will want to leave your coins in the condition that they were in when you received them. Even if they are dirty, you will not want to use chemicals or little brushes in an attempt to clean or brighten them up. Even if you have each coin in its own protective case, you want to make sure that you are not leaving them in a spot in your house that is exposed to a lot of sun. The direct sunlight can cause your coins to become faded, which will cause them to lose their appeal to potential buyers you may want to sell them to in the future.
